For the Optional Glaze

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 23 tablespoons Milk or Cream
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Cream softened butter with brown and white sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually mix in flour, baking powder, and cinnamon until smooth dough forms.
  2. Shape the Cookies: Roll dough on a floured surface into a thin rectangle. Spread melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar mixture evenly over top. Carefully roll into a log shape. Chill for around 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Slice and Bake: Cut the chilled dough log into ½-inch thick slices. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft.
  4. Add the Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk or cream, and vanilla to create a smooth glaze. Drizzle generously over warm cookies and let set for a glossy finish.
