Ingredients

Scale

Lemonade Base

  • Juice of 4 fresh lemons
  • 1/4 cup sugar or honey, adjust to taste
  • 1 cup cold water

Blueberry Layer

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup water (or as needed to blend)
  • 12 teaspoons sweetener (sugar or honey)

Strawberry Layer

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 12 teaspoons sweetener (sugar or honey)
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Additional

  • Crushed ice, for topping
  • Sparkling water (optional), to taste
  • Garnishes: starfruit slices, fresh mint sprigs, edible glitter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fresh Lemonade Base: Squeeze the juice of fresh lemons into a bowl or pitcher. Add your preferred sweetener—whether sugar, honey, or an alternative—and stir until completely dissolved. Chill the lemonade until ready to use.
  2. Blend the Blueberry Layer: In a blender, combine fresh or frozen blueberries with a splash of water and a little sweetener. Blend until smooth to create a rich, deep blue layer that will form part of the galaxy effect.
  3. Blend the Strawberry Layer: Blend the strawberries with sweetener and ice cubes until the mixture is thick, frosty, and vibrant red, adding the finishing galaxy colors.
  4. Assemble the Layers: In tall clear glasses, carefully pour the blueberry blend first, followed by the chilled lemonade, and then top with the strawberry mix. Use a spoon or straw to gently swirl the layers to mimic swirling stars in a galaxy.
  5. Add Ice and Sparkling Water: Top each glass with crushed ice for extra chill. Optionally add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy, light finish.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Add a starfruit slice or a fresh mint sprig on top for a decorative, cosmic touch. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use chilled fruits and lemonade for smoother texture and quicker blending.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness for each layer before assembling.
  • Crush ice finely to achieve a smooth slush without large chunks.
  • Pour layers slowly to keep colors distinct and preserve the galaxy effect.
  • Use clear glasses to best showcase the vibrant colors of the slushie.
