Ingredients

Scale

Proteins

  • 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 ounces smoked sausage, sliced into rounds

Vegetables

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce & Seasonings

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Other

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Chop broccoli into bite-sized florets, slice sausage into rounds, and ensure shrimp are peeled and deveined. Mince garlic and measure out honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice.
  2. Cook the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned and slightly crisp, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Broccoli: Add a little more olive oil to the same skillet if needed. Toss in broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 4 minutes until bright green and just tender but still crisp.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet with broccoli and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: Push shrimp and vegetables to one side of the skillet. In the empty side, add minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in honey, soy sauce, and a splash of lemon juice, mixing everything together.
  6. Combine and Finish: Return sausage to the skillet and toss all ingredients to coat evenly in the honey garlic sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to meld flavors before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh or properly thawed shrimp for the best texture and flavor.
  • Don’t overcook broccoli to keep it crisp-tender and vibrant green.
  • Start with less honey, adding more to taste to balance sweetness and savoriness.
  • Stir-fry quickly at medium-high heat to cook ingredients evenly without sogginess.
  • Always use fresh garlic for authentic aroma and flavor.
